Furniture retailer DFS has introduced software to improve the performance and safety of its fleet
The rollout of telematics software from Microlise is delivering a full suite of reports to help reduce fuel and maintenance costs; and improve the safety of the company's transport
trialled Microlise Fleet Performance earlier this year before opting to deploy the technology across its growing vehicle and trailer fleet.
Hardware, manufactured by Microlise
, is being fitted fleet-wide and once installed will report real-time operational data on the location and operation of the fleet.
A direct connection with the vehicle tachograph will enable driver identification via the web portal functionality, both in real-time and historically.
DFS has also deployed the Microlise Safety Module which will enable speed, direction, accelerator position, braking, ABS status, gears, cruise control and clutch to be recorded, giving an overview in the seconds before and after an incident.
Russell Harte, group technology director at DFS, said: "We ran a successful Microlise Fleet Performance trial earlier this year and are confident we will quickly make a return on investment by delivering greater efficiency. Fundamentally this helps us to provide
the very best value and service for our customers.”
